Spy Shots of iX3 Mule in Sweden Undergoing Winter Testing
I find it interesting to see/learn about our upcoming sixth generation EV SAV cousin, as I learned from smart folks here that our iX’s roughly two years away LCI would incorporate the iX3’s six generation batteries/EV powertrain updates. Following the iX3’s released upcoming info could help us learn in advance about our iX’s LCI in advance. An iX3 looks in size and configuration a lot like a 7/8’s sized iX.

I do not expect IX design to change much, if at all. Maybe the addition of iconic glow grille surround. Battery and drivetrain improvements are more likely.

I wonder if the LCI iX will also get the tech improvements? We've seen the hands free active lane change already on the i5/i7, and the Level 3 "eyes-off/hands-off" assisted driving mode is being tested as well.

I wouldn't count on this either. Improvements coming to i7 rely on LiDAR being added to the build which has always been on the cards for i7 but not mentioned anywhere in the technical literature for IX.

Hah maybe. I drove an R1T and I thought it was better than Tesla but still on par with entry level lux on the inside (like X3 or 3 series). Plus didn't like the motor noise. iX has me too spoiled.

darylp310, I have thought about your question for a few hours and my take, fwiw, is that they would not want to make more changes than listed above by javapro.
Reason I am thinking this is that they want the Neue Klasse iX3 and 3 series models to have some new features uniquely their own — to generate real excitement toward them. If they were to share some of those changes with the iX it could dilute the Neue Klasse buzz. |

BMW is the EV story to watch over the next couple of years. Tesla backed itself into a corner with its race-to-the-bottom price war. Now it's selling its cars at half the profit margin of legacy auto. Kyle Conner w/ Out of Spec Reviews, a prolific Youtuber, said that the Cybertruck is "Tesla's first dud." Since the ascent of Elon Musk Tesla has experienced a total bankruptcy of innovation.
Tesla basically has nothing new to sell people except a disappointing, overpriced, and ugly truck that is arriving in the hands of real customers with really bad panel issues and QC problems. But hey, isn't that what we've come to expect from Tesla? Model S & X—Tesla's highest profit margin cars—are not selling at all. Nobody wants to buy into a decade-old platform that has only been superficially and cosmetically updated during that time. The EV story for 2024 is going to be Kia/Hyundai and BMW. Elon Musk, with his failed promises of 4680 and gigacasting superiority, has ensured Tesla's irrelevance in the revolution that it began. Last edited by NomoTesla; 01-20-2024 at 11:19 AM.. |

This is the best iX 3 rendering I have seen, with or course with the renderer’s choosing to add in the iSignature blue package and a few more things. How accurate is it? We await the official picture release probably more than a year down the road.

Every rendering but one has this same “iX C pillar” copy. I doubt that. Instead perhaps the entire roof and A,B and C pillars would be black — a swoopy design feature many SUV’s have. With a further specific differentiation for the C pillar so that it is not fully black but has an angle color cut also as many do.
