Voice Commands
Anyone have an issue using the bmw voice commands, any time i say anything it always says that it didnt understand and please repeat or something like that then the second time works perfectly. but hasnt failed that the first time i must repeat it but the second time it understands after not saying it any different.
I went through the setting and i didnt notice anything that needed to be changed or anything. |

was there anything that you needed to do to get it working like that? I mean i speak clearly and have very little accent and i cannot get it to do anything 1st try, saying an address, changing temps or anything. I have no issues the second time (i repeat the exact same words) so i would doubt that its my wording or clarity but i dont know.

For me , I quickly realised that I could carryout any voice command much quicker by doing it myself...the voice command thing is nice, but far from necessary...it's an old person thing.

Got reasonably proficient. But then didn't use voice control any more other than for NAV. And with NAV it is hit or miss. Rather than repeat myself some times before the NAV system finally gets it, I need to remember to enter destination info *before* setting out rather than try to do it via voice control underway. |

I lobbed this up on another thread as I was trying to decipher why "turn on/off air-conditioning" always resulted "it's already on/off" even when it was/wasn't.
https://fullfocus.notion.site/BMW-iD...23d9c437c84261 Yet to try all of it, but the same experience of completely missing the word (directions) or coming sort of near (like "fish" and "cow" are similar sounding). Awfully average for some things, but seems to get mostly right with some very basic commands it must have been well taught like "call this person or that person" (so somehow hears a name and gets it right most often). |

Can't recall the thread now but someone posted a link to a video of two Scottish men in an elevator and interacting with the elevator's voice controls.
Here is the video... |
