Lightweight single mass flywheel options... go!

How much does the stock flywheel weigh?

What are the options for a lightweight flywheel?

Are these cars really twin disc from the factory?

I have experience with C4 and C5 Corvettes moving from dual mass to single mass. Huge performance improvements at the cost of some marbles in the can rattles at idle. That swap was about 20lbs reduced drivetrain mass. The rule was 1lb reduction in rotational was equivalent to 15lbs weight reduction.

The only thing I've found is this:

I'd be leery of going to a single mass flywheel if the engine came with a dual mass flywheel. The DMF besides provided clutch cushioning serves to dampen crankshaft torsional stresses. This also reduces stresses to cam drive system.

With a SMF, to provide the clutch cushioning the friction disc needs something -- like springs -- which makes for a heavier friction disc. And if the clutch is twin disc then both discs are heavier.
