2/24 Update
I currently have the 7/23 firmware installed and I’m now getting notification of a new update.
Anyone else seeing this? After losing the ability to code off ASS with the last update I am a bit hesitant to apply this latest for fear of what else might be lost. Last edited by thanatosbruce000; 02-08-2024 at 11:08 PM.. |

Not sure that ID7 and ID8 get the same numerical updates.
I just updated my '24 with ID8 about a week ago and it is now "current" with 7.2023.53 - I am in the SE USA area (if that makes any difference). |

2022 with ID7 here. First time the car/app prompted me to update the car. Now running 11/2023.50. The previous two updates were downloaded when the car was at the dealer for something else.

Just did the update (w/o the trip to the dealer). Def lost 200mph speedometer and some other Bimmercode coded options (haven't had a chance to do a full review what I'll have to redo yet).

Anyone having issues with the 11/2023.50 Update?
I have told it to install twice, starts the install, gives me all the prompts, mirrors stay out, ect...I leave the car, then I go back later and it did not install? |

I thought it was maybe because I had couple minor things coded via Bimmercode, but it sounds like others have updated even though they had coding done. |

I installed the 02/24 update over the weekend and all my old bimmercode and xhp stuff flashes back no problem. I am not sure about ASS since I start in sport individual and it's off by default. but I will try it out in comfort (since I coded it to remember last setting) tomorrow or something and report back EDIT: ASS memory works for me. it is still disabled after turning the car back on Last edited by ryo-; 02-28-2024 at 06:08 PM.. |

There is small list of things that have to be done before it will update. Mine is ID8 - it might be different for ID7. The routine for BMW is a pita - my Honda will update while I am driving. |

I got mine done on the 1st try but funny story, I was coming back from PA back to MD and my wife and I were at a gas station filling up both of our cars and I was like "hmmm, an OTA update that states that it takes a few minutes...I bet I can get it done before both cars are filled up~". Noooope. Had me sweating that I bricked the car when after the update started, nothing would respond. I can attest that it took 15 minutes max. The worst of it was redoing all of the bimmercode setting the next day, but all in all not too bad since no trip to the dealer had to be made.

Are you sure your battery is well charged? If the car thinks the charge level is low, or borderline, it won’t allow the install the start. Possibly why the lights have to be off to avoid battery drain during the install.

I am thinking it may be temp related, not wanting to do this install in the cold with the impact on the battery, or the capacity of the battery in the cold is not reading high enough. |

My G42 ID8 is on 07/2023.53 and has been for quite a while. It does not mention any updates available.
My other car is ID7 with 03/2023.67 but wants to upgrade to 11/2023.50 So far it does not get past "Preparing upgrade to 11/2023.50 (1%)..." the couple times I have tried. However, the car has not been driven in a few months so perhaps after I put insurance back on it and get some charge back in the battery it will. Mine doesnt get past 1%. Let me know if yours finally makes it through on its own. |
