So I just bought my 2024 G42 M240i xDrive. And I have been pouring over my brakes to try and figure out what I have. Four pistons in front, 2 in back, red calipers, smooth rotors. But what Im confused on is this has elements of both sport and performance brake kits. So which are they? The red color suggest performance, the smooth, probably smaller rotors suggest sport. But I thought sport only came in the blue. Fyi I am in the US, this is a mexico build VIN starting with 3MW… so yeah any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

The M240 has the option of red or blue brake calipers, unless you get the track and cooling package. That only comes with the choice of blue.

I think that’s dependent on the region. My G42 has all packages / options and there was no caliper color choice, just red (Canada).
