Catted downpipe.

I'm looking into getting a catted downpipe for my M240i. Either MST or Active Atowerke. Does one have an advantage over the other?

AA all the way. Proven no cel down pipe and if you do get a cel it’s easy to get it replaced by them.

Also them being a US based company is huge when it comes to support.

They have been in the bmw game for a very long time.

We offer both but Active is the top 1 option, in my opinion.

Its vastly more proven than MST, they also have excellent support.

So I get the general consensus is Active Autowerk is the go to for DP. They ever go on sale? $1500ish is a lot considering Mode has one currently under $600 also stating no cel warranty. Anyone try the mode?

if you dont want to deal with the check engine light and your car is not flash tuned, the Active Autowerke downpipe is the go to DP

Thanks x-hp for having these goodies in stock!
Our pleasure, thank you for your support

In combination with the Burger intake’s choo-choo noises I have an ear to ear grin every time I drive.

Highly recommended the AA pipe.

I'd still go with AA even in Europe, the likelihood of CEL is the lowest with the AA downpipe so you probably wont need to exchange it

Just posting to give you guys some insight, I've had my AA DP for about 15,000 miles and a little over a year. No CEL and sounds amazing, about 25-30% louder imo and no drone in comfort... highly recommend!

Makes me wonder if you get AA downpipe and AA or Dinan exhaust with exhaust flap controller. If you put the exhaust flap in closed would there be no drone still? Most of the people saying no drone with AA downpipe are saying with OEM exhaust on comfort.

you'll get more from the downpipe + valve controller than the Dinan exhaust.

Yeah, but what if I want both?

Hey I was in a similar position! I ended up going with the miltek exhaust paired with my AA downpipe. In comfort it sounds stock, and in sport plus it is nice. No drone tbh it isn't as wild as I expected. I might do a dme unlock and mess with mhd just to get some more character out of the exhaust note because bmw neutered it from factory

Does this AA DP need a tune for the B48/46?

no need for a tune, it use EPA approved cats which do not trigger the check engine light
