Dinan or Carbahn Tuner?
Okay, I don't see this specific comparo/query, so I started this thread.
I have a 2022 230 M Sport, and would like to push through a clear 300HP threshold...more TQ too. Willing to spend $2000 to get there. For starters, tuning. I would like to go with Dinan or Carbahn, but not the simple "piggy back" tuner (I have Dinan's Sport now...Meh). Dinan's Dinantronics X or Carbahn's Performance Controller. Cost not the issue (but Dinan is $400 cheaper). In short, which one is more capable, reliable, and more effective in actual use? I can see the HP/TQ increases, but was hoping to get real-world use case feedback. |

If your goals are power and features, you have way better options than what you chose.
The feature and power are the same if you are limited to these two options. Get whichever one is cheaper.

So might you recommend the JB4 or Bootmod3. Which would give me the "safest" power increase?

I had Dinan elite V2 on a '17 m240i. Had Sport on a '16 228ix . Very good power bump on both particularly the V2 elite, So easy to install, never a code thrown. I believe the elite isnt made any longer but I never had an issue with it. That being said Dinan being at Carbahn now would prob sway me in that direction. As Mike (XPH) said there are other options with greater power increases besides these 2. It really depends what you want to spend and inherent risk (with any power mod) you are willing to take. G. |
