Dinan Intake Questions

I've been on the fence about getting the Dinan Cold air intake for my m240i. I have heard/read that the stock box is probably better in terms of performance but the dinan is the route for turbo noise. Can anyone confirm that there may be power loss with an aftermarket? I know theres claims of like sub 10hp and dynos but I noticed thats with a piggyback tune or something. Please help

It’s splitting hairs. A few HP in either direction is unnoticeable.

If you want the extra noise just get the intake and enjoy it.

+1 the HP power is barely noticeable either way, just get the intake that looks and sounds best to you.

in theory, the open-air intake is the best for airflow
the closed intake is the best for temps
open air with a heat shield is an excellent compromise to get the best of both worlds

Dinan is a closed intake, it's not going to be very loud. if that is what you are looking for then its an excellent option
