Truck spoiler G8X

Hi there I just got my new M2 and I’m looking for truck spoilers. I like the style that goes from end to end unlike the m performance that has a gap on each side.

My question is do M3/M4 spoilers fit on the M2

Cheers,

Man... came here hoping to see some really creative applications of GMC or Ford pickup spoilers...

M3/M4 spoilers won't fit, as the trunk lid has a different shape. If you're looking for spoilers not specifically marketed towards the G87 platform, check the G42 (regular 2 series) offerings.

Check out the following (I own both if these, one on my G87 and one on my G42...pictures posted of both in other threads):

TRE-01 at AUTOID https://autoid.co/products/bmw-m2-2-...e-2021-g42-g87

OEM++ style (looks like M Performance but runs width of the trunk) from Unit 17 https://unit17autostyling.com/produc...e-unit-design/

Honestly, I just can't decide on this.

I had initially like the TRE ID 01, but not so sure anymore. The M performance style looks nice, but is it weird it doesn't go to the end? Would like to see it on person probably. The TRE CS style looked great on my G42.

The suvneer, unit 17, and maybe even Kies spoilers that are m performance plus and go full width are also interesting, but the unit 17 looks soo big.

I have mixed opinions on the CT carbon option too.

I also love how the various wings/flow through options look on people's cars, but between cost, drilling holes in the trunk and how "loud" they are I don't think I can commit to that yet.

Here is the Unit 17 on my M240 (it truly looks great).

I like a smaller spoiler on a car such as this so I went with the RW Carbon G87 M2 DTM. Looks very similar to the Auto-ID CS style. Very reasonably priced and should be here end of next week.

Hey, we have a few options that could possibly work for you if you are still in the market for a trunk spoiler.

Here's what we have to offer. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Hi all,

A bit late to reply to this post but can anyone tell me if the RW DTM boot lid carbon spoiler matches the weave of the G87 M2 carbon roof.

I'm in the UK and I'm hopefully getting my G87 M2 in the next couple of weeks and I'm looking for a carbon boot spoiler.

I'm also only about 30 minutes from Auto ID in the UK and I know their carbon spoiler looks rather good but not sure if it matches the weave of the carbon roof. Any of you guys with the Auto ID spoiler confirm if the weave matches the roof?

Also does anyone have a genuine BMW carbon boot spoiler and if so, does that weave match the roof.

Thanks.

I think the CF roof is a 1x1 weave and MP carbon along with many 3rd party manufacturers is 2x2 so the roof will be different.

I have the RW Carbon DTM and it is indeed 2x2 ( which as stated I believe most if not all aftermarket ones are). It is far enough from the roof I don't notice the difference nor has anyone who's seen the car up close mentioned it.

Thanks all.

It looks like the RW Carbon DTM lip spoiler is very similar to the MHC+ lip spoiler supplied by R44 Performance here in the UK. I like that it is a big improvement over the factory spoiler but isn't too aggressive and is very subtle and will look good on our incoming black M2.

ScottyRyan, thanks for the pics, the lip spoiler looks really good and in no way too aggressive like some are.

Thanks again for your input, it's appreciated.

Looks great! I have my RW. Planning to install this weekend possibly.

Does it go in the exact position of the factory spoiler?

You are welcome. It's a really nice quality spoiler for a good price. I'm guessing it's made at the same place others get theirs from and then resell under their own brand.

I didn't want something large and aggressive and this fits the bill just right.

Yes, it fits right over where the OEM one was. Removal of the OEM one is kind of a tedious process. I heated it with a hair dryer and then used a bondo squeegee to get under it and carefully pry it up. The amount of adhesive BMW uses is way overkill. I ended up heating it up, spraying 3M adhesive remover on it, "scratching" it with a plastic trim tool, then using the bondo squeegee to scrape most of it off, finishing with wiping it down with 3M on a rag. Took about an hour start to finish.

Putting the new one on was super easy. Don't panic with the adhesive promoter. You have plenty of time between wiping that onto the surface and then placing the spoiler over it.

AutoID has a pretty good tutorial on YouTube for removing the stock spoiler with fishing line (skip to 1:32):
