Valvetronic titanium exhaust
I was wondering if anyone who has the titanium valvetronic systems had any feedback on it and if they liked it or if they would go with a different set up as I already have Catless downpipes and want the car to sound much more aggressive.

Valvetronic makes a great setup (I have the stainless Valvetronic valved sport exhaust system aka catback with highflow catted downpipes and sound and performance is awesome - stainless is a deeper sound than titanium). The question I would ask, do you really want titanium? It will give you a higher toned/pitched pingier sound vs stainless. |

if you want titanium, Valvetronic is the best value choice unless you want to spend Akrapovic kind of money. Note that titanium has its pros especially with the weight but the sound it produces is higher pitched that stainless steel. Depending on the kind of sound you are after, that might not be a good thing.

For the G87, I think Valvetronic has Akrapovic beat for quality (and of course, price). |

I was looking for something that didn’t sound to raspy. I also wanted to use the car for track so I thought it might be worth it to upgrade to titanium. |

No rasp in ny exhaust whatsoever. I should have emphasized earlier, with you catless downpipes, the titanium will sound really tinny and not "mean" (no track benefit except possible weight). Think obnoxious ricey/Japanese sounding. |

if you're a casual track driver doing this for fun, your choice of exhaust should primarily focus on the sound that appeals to you the most, rather than the potential weight savings.

Every time I hear titanium exhaust at the track I cringe at the raspy tinny noise and then I think "sounds like lightness"

They definitely have a clip of their catback stainless. Not sure if they have one for the titanium but just think tinnier, pingy and "ricer" sounding. |

I am sure that somewhere there is a torque spec but it is less important in this type of application. I know that there will be some who will vehemently disagree with me on this but I suggest tightening the nuts by hand using a rachet until you feel that it is pretty darn tight. Drive the car for a few hundred miles and check the bolts. You will find that several could use some more tightening. I do this a few times until I find that everything remains tight during the heat cycles. Keep in mind that I am referring to the bolts on the clamps etc on the actual exhaust tubes. There is probably a torque spec for the bolts holding the exhaust to the body but, once again, I wouldn't hesitate to tighten it until it felt tight. Your experience may vary.

Sounds good one more question , mg g87 is barely 2000 miles so I can reuse the exhaust connection to the downpipe with the same bolts and if any gasket that on it as rest of it nuts and clamps are brand new with the exhaust not worried about the body clamps,
Juts the connection gasket and blots on the down pipe. Thank you |
