G87 M2 Front Bumper Alternative

Dear BMW/Jose Casas,

On the top is your current G87 M2 front end. On the bottom is what I think it *should* look like. This would only require you to modify or replace your current front bumper tool. Everything else like the headlights, grilles, sensors, etc. can remain as-is. I will only charge you one M2 production sample for my work!

Sincerely,

A long-time customer and fan

Eh, I like the top more. Just add the painted center section from IND & you're basically there.

I like that one too, but BMW won't make that much of a change for an LCI since it would involve revising all of the plastic parts up front and the headlights not to mention a significant change in design direction for the vehicle. I think they only revised the inside of the M4 headlights for the 2025MY LCI and didn't touch any of the plastic parts on the front so that probably a much more reasonable expectation IMO.

Probably wishful thinking that they would even revise the front bumper on the M2 and we'll probably only get the snake eye headlight treatment!

Revised bumper plus M4 LCI headlight treatment. Clean and mean.

Original looks more unique and aggressive, in my opinion, a better fit for the overall styling of the car. Adro version looks like someone put a couple of hooks in the bottom corners of the bumper and yanked them outwards, a bit like a kid putting their little fingers in their mouth and pulling them apart

My opinion...

The recessed black chin piece makes the front look unfinished at best and like you hit a speed bump and took out the piece that should have been there at worst. Black is the only M2 color that looks finished to my eye since all of the other colors have too much contrast with that front bottom piece.

BMW should, at least, do what IND offers and paint it body color. Such an easy and cost effective improvement when the LCI rolls around.

Hardly. The M2 is pretty unique looking in terms of dimensions and bulges alone. The bottom of the front bumper isn't going to change that overall. It just completes a design that many believe simply looks unfinished.

The original is better, in my opinion.

These suggestions are not consistent with the design language of the rest of the car.

Do you prefer the original look over the painted version that people are doing at body shops or by installing one of the IND lips? Some good pics here:

I prefer the original look. I'm a fan of that style. I also really liked a similar styling with the EVO X front bumper. I don't like when that area gets too big ala modern Lexus IS.

I also prefer that look, has more of a DTM feel, which is in keeping with the overall car styling.

Gotcha. For some reason I can't warm up to it and I eventually warmed up to the M3/4-Series nostrils.

The look actually works better on the Mitsu IMO as the design element is continuous above, through and below the bumper. On the M2 it's just below the bumper and still looks like something is missing.

The GSX was always a headturner for me when I was younger.

That is not my EVO above. I just plucked it randomly from google images.

I did have a 2015 EVO X GSR. It still stands out in my mind as one of the funnest cars I've owned. Tooling around in the New England winters with winter tires and AWD was a blast. That car was surgical in its maneuverability.

I could probably find a pic of my EVO somewhere ...
