Best Piggy Back Tune

I would like to know the best piggyback tune to get for my 240. I am in between the JB+ or the RaceChip black. I have a contact that wants to sell me their lightly used race chip for $450 with app capability ( still figuring out how that transfers) but we have the same car/engine so he said it should just work. Which piggy back is safer/better? I was leaning race chip because it is noob friendly but I would like input on both

race chip has 7 maps that you can choose from the app, the JB+ requires you to open the box and manually change the map

If the hassle is worth the extra money, then get a racechip.

Safety does not play a role in making a decision, as they are both just as safe.

What if we compared the Jb4 to the race chip black? Is the additional things with the obd connection really worth it? (As in are more parameters being adjusted besides boost) Im here to learn

racechip has an easier install, and you can change the maps from the tuner directly without needing to buy the Bluetooth
with the JB4, you must get the Bluetooth connect kit to change the maps

Other than that, the JB4 is superior in every aspect. More safety features, data logging, code reading and deleting, boost by gear for better traction control, boost by RPM for a smoother power curve, maps for different stages, custom map, etc...

You can install the Jb4 and not mess with any of the features, but if you ever need them, it's nice to know they are there for you to take advantage of it.

Went with the race chip black because of the lower price, kind of worried about it as I you have mentioned the jb4 has more features and is a "smarter" piggy back. I pulled the trigger too quick. Haven't installed and tested yet but I do have concerns about inconsistency with the boost I get from the race chip black but you get what you pay for.

I don't think you will get any inconsistency, it adds a set PSI of boost on the existing stock boost. I used it for a while on my M4 and I was happy with the result.

But if you do not feel comfortable and the item is brand new, you can check with your vendor on their return policy.

Im getting mixed feedback on whether or not the dealers can see logs surrounding usage of a piggy back after taking it off. In your experience was that ever an issue? And what is a long term risk of using it

I never had any issues; whether they can see it or not does not matter.

You won't break anything if you run the recommended maps, and the dealer will not trouble you.

If you break a car component, expect to pay for it even if you remove the tune after.

I’m running Racechip GTS Black with E30 on Map7 and the power difference is huge def worth the money unless you do JB4

We can run e30 just on a racechip? Holyy shit. I have the race chip black but still haven't installed it yet but I was having after thoughts about if I should have gotten a jb4. But the race chip was literally half the price from the deal I got.

Also running GTS Black with E30, no issues, significant power difference. Seems way easier to install than JB4.

you can run E85 on a stock car, but if you don't increase the boost to match the E85's capabilities, the benefits are very limited.

When we say the JB4 is E85 compatible, it means they have a dedicated E85 map with a higher boost than the regular maps for more power.
Unfortunately, the Raecchip does not have E85 dedicated maps.
