Hey guys, long time Porsche driver but just got super lucky snagging a manual Frozen Pure Grey Metallic M2. I was still #29 on the allocation list (on since June 2023) locally but my salesman called me when one randomly came in stock. I put a hold on it that night and 4 other people tired to buy it on my drive over in the morning.

Already swapped 50th anniversary badges, and have an appt to powder coat wheels bronze a la 827M. Loving the car so far, and this paint is just out of this world!

awesome! I've got a frozen portimao on the way cause I'm a sucker for that blue, but this grey made me think twice. Should throw the pics in this thread as well

Congrats on the car, that's such a nice color, really shows off the lines.
I would suggest forgoing the powdercoating the wheels and getting some nice forged aftermarket ones in bronze. Might cost you a couple grand more than powdercoating but will save you like 40 lbs of rotational mass.

Don’t waste your money powder, coating cast aluminum wheels. Those wheels are so crappy they’ve been breaking apart at the hub.

I’m part of a BMW CCA and our members have been complaining about this.


Bmw went super cheap on the wheels on this car.

Love the color. I would save money and buy the 1000 M gold wheels. Or get yourself a set of gold CS wheels.

Congrats! Wow, that Frozen Pure Grey really compliments that car's lines so well! Probably the best color I've seen so far on a G87 M2 to date.

50th Anniversary badges were only available from BMW on vehicles built in or sold as 2022MY as a reference to BMW GMBH starting in 1972. Changing your standard roundels implies your vehicle is 2 years old. I assume this is not a 2022MY since frozen paints were not available until recently.

He replaced the emblems because he liked them better… very common for people to do it. Whether it’s considered “fake badging” or not is up for debate the debate gets heavier because the emblems were offered on non-M cars as well, as long as they had any M package, for example.

Two corrections though: M cars built in the YEAR of the 50th anniversary (so from May 2022 through to May 2023) carried the emblems (either by default or as an option). So, 2023 MY cars for the most part.

And it wasn’t the celebration of BMW’s anniversary, but BMW M.
