added a CS spoiler by TRE, TLG front mudflaps, 12.5mm front 15mm rear bimecc spacers, black low-profile license plate holder. Definitely need to install the MP HAS at some point

I think Matte color shows the M2 lines better. I love it but can never do matte because of how much harder it is to maintain it.

it's pretty simple you just need the right stuff for it, Dr. Beasley is the go-to.

You definitely want to ceramic coat it if you are't PPF'ing, my car got delivered with water spots all over it (why BMW doesn't ship these with a cover from factory I dunno, I'm gunna let 'em hear it if/when they contact me for a post-purchase survey) and my god were they annoying to get off, was engaged in chemical warfare with them for hours and had to start putting a little bit of friction on the bad ones, paint seems to have held up to it well.

Water spots? Why the heck. So if a frozen paint gets wet and the water droplets dry on the car, they leave a mark? What did you use to get the spots off?

Waterspotting is not specific to frozen paint. It's not any more or less susceptible than glossy clear. Any water that dries on your paint can spot it and if the water has high mineral content it can stain or "etch" into the clear. Rain typically doesn't do it, it's things like sprinklers, tap water, runoff, dirty water etc. The main difference with frozen clear is you can't polish it. So, if acids fail to remove the water spots, you have no options other than living with it or repainting it.

Holy cow - been watching tons of vids on the amount of work frozen paint can require. I don’t know - I may be rethinking my FPB choice. I may be doing plan B - Toronto Red. I simply don’t have the time to focus on car care like I used to. Maybe one day, but not right now.

once you ceramic coat or PPF it's easy, just sucks if your car is delivered with stubborn water spots. I used Dr. Beasley's paint cleanser but had to really attack some of the spots cause they were big and mean.

BMW really needs to deliver frozen cars with a cover like Porsche uses

Dr. Beasley's ceramic coat applied, also black gloss vinyl on the rear reflectors. Got the real camera out for some shots in different lighting

Did you do the paint correction and all of it yourself? Did you have any PPF on the car before?

yeah did it all myself, if not for the annoying waterspots it would've been really easy. Went over the whole car with dr. B paint cleanser until the spots were off, then went over it with dr. B decon then applied the ceramic which is easy too, mist distilled water on a panel then paint on the ceramic with their foam pads then dry/lightly buff with a fresh microfiber towel. No PPF cause rock chips aren't really a issue where I live, will use that money on forged wheels/MP HAS etc.

went with the regular ceramic coat this time, they have a $500 one that's better that I'll probably go with next time

That the funny part about the mindset of people who don't believe in PPF. Rock chips aren't an if, it's only a matter of time. After a few thousands miles look are all the area behind your front & rear tires. You'll see that the front of your rockers panels attached to your front fenders have been slowly sandblasted & taken a great deal of abuse. Unless you're on a freshly paved track & of a public road, there is debris everywhere. Just because you can't see & don't believe it's there, doesn't mean tit doesn't exist. Just saying. Enjoy your car man.

that's why I have TLG mudflaps on to tank most the stuff that would've dodged the wheel well and smacked the rocker panel, might do PPF there if I see damage starting to happen anyway but it's a mass produced car, doesn't need to stay factory new forever. Couple chips across the front end after years of driving is fine with me and that's what my previous cars have had from driving the area I live, got better things to spend 3-7k on. If my previous car's whole front ends looked sand blasted after a few years then I'd drop the cash for it

Planning on getting a cf spoiler - the slightly bigger TRE one. Should I install it prior to the ceramic or after? Or does is matter? I’ve heard nothing sticks to ceramic well. Or is that mainly PPF they’re talking about?

prior for sure, then you can ceramic right up to it's edge and also the spoiler itself for full coverage, the adhesive won't stick to ceramic well either
