Improving shifter feel

What are people doing to improve shifter/clutch feel on the manuals? Short shift kit, bushings, clutch stop? Not much talk about it on here

I got the BMW Performance aluminum knob installed, and I love it! It feels so much better in the hand and the shits are so much more precise.

The car is too new and I don’t think is worth messing with anything else for street driving.

Clutch stop is a no brainer in my opinion. Gets rid of the excess travel, making for much smoother shifts from my experience. I've been debating getting a short shift kit, with bushings while I'm at it, but have yet to make the plunge. Would love a heavier, lighted shift knob a la M5, but don't see that happening easily.

Can you enlighten me on how an aluminum shift knob has any effect on changing the precision of the shifting?

shift feel

I had the CDV (clutch delay valve) removed and it made a nice difference in the shifting feel... My shop that I use says they have been removing them from M cars for a number of years... you can search this forum for a DIY video on how to do it....
I too was going the route of changing the shift linkage and this mod changed my mind...

Simple, it is shorter and more compact than the OEM one. Being shorter makes the throw shorter. The OEM leather covered knob fees like a cheap plastic toy, there is no question the aluminum version feels much better in hand. Ergo, it feels more precise.
