Can you run 2 different ECUs?...
Just a question I was wondering. Would the G87 platform allow the use of two different ECUs? What I'm asking is can you run one ECU with the BM3 Software (Fenton unlocked) and one you keep OME? This way if you had to take it to the dealership for some reason you just swap in the OME ECU. If this has been done before, then please point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Doubt it since multiple electronic components in the car are encrypted using the VIN. Hence why people have to ship their ECUs to FEMTO and back. It's not a core charge they're paying.

You can swap ECUs. I had the same thoughts and personally decided against it.
Max torque value does get stored in the trans Mileage gets store in the ECU The question is if a warranty incident happens, how deep will they (BMW) dive? Why are there 50 miles missing from ECU1? Why does the trans have a higher torque value than factory? Etc etc
