Modern Spare quality

New user here...

I just bought a ModernSpare for my G42 and I have to say I'm thoroughly unimpressed at the experience. The rim was clearly damaged during tire installation, but more importantly, the contact surface of the wheel center is pretty chewed up, having been damaged before it was painted. Quality control?! This thing was $500+.

This, on top of having to pay an additional fee for their 3rd-party shipping insurance that they require you to buy since they explicitly take no responsibility for the product showing up at your door.

I'm going to complain and see if they offer any help, but at $65 each way for shipping I may be stuck with this thing. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Looks like a returned item.

That sucks because the kit ain’t cheap.

hmm; I just ordered one for my G87 M2, as I didn't like the looks and price of the Bimmerzone setup.

......I note that it is ~ 2 months since your post; did Modern Spare respond to your concerns that you got a damaged/used item?
