Air Filters for Stock Intake

Anyone have experience with any of the aftermarket higher flow
air filters for the stock intake. Not interested in aftermarket intakes. Thanks.

Some of the ones I have found are:
Carbahn (claim 10hp increase?)
MMR (from iND)
BMC (from EAS)
Pipercross plus (UK)

Focus on the cotton gauze types, the foam filters can stick with the two-strokes and shop vacs.

We use BMC here in house, they are widely respected in the racing field: https://www.bmcairfilters.com/en/news

BMC for the win! Only one I would use for a drop in replacement.

Thats what I used with my Stage 2 tune before upgrade to the Eventuri intake and it ran strong with the BMC.

Its definitely an improvement over oem. Keep in mind, the oem intake is equal in flow to many of the aftermarkets so removing the carbon/oem filters and replacing with the BMC will be a definite upgrade.

Are the blue MMR drop in filters are oiled or dry? I only saw that they are washable, but no indication whether they are oiled or not.

Exactly. The stock airboxes are not at all restrictive, it's the filters that contribute to the gains marketed on intakes.

OP - we've got the best pricing on BMCs - always in stock.

I used to be in the "performance" air filter industry. I can't speak for BMC since they are Italian but nearly all the US manufacturers bought their cotton, wire screen, and oil from the same suppliers. For what it's worth, I have seen how the sausage is made, I am very familiar with the tests and the claims and I choose to use a stock paper filter.

Here is a dyno from the BMS filter showing ~ 8whp gains.
the BMC is supposed to be even better

My vote goes for BMC. They make one of the highest quality filters i've seen. I'd bet the difference isn't huge when it comes to power but if prices being equal bmc is the winner hands down.

I can confirm, although without the graph to do so, that BMC has shown a gain over stock and the Eventuri intake even more so (best gains are shown when custom tuned on a dyno).

Price would not be an object to me (what are we talking ~$100 or so) if one is looking for best quality replacement. As you said, its BMC hands down...

Thanks, and WOW, if those are back to back same tune etc, that is quite impressive. Hard to believe, actually.

That's an immense chunk of torque coming on sooner.
These will be a day-1 mod for sure.

Yeah I just meant bmc vs the next leading filter manufacturer. Either Way I always choose bmc for factory replacements when available.
