  • BMW Curved Display updated with iDrive 8.5 with QuickSelect.
  • New interior and exterior details freshen the appearance inside and out.
  • New colors broaden the available paint selection.
  • Worldwide launch to commence in August 2024.

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – June 12, 2024… The BMW 2 Series Coupe is unique in the compact segment, combining unreserved sportiness, extraordinary driving dynamics, and premium features in a classic 2-door coupe body style. For 2025, new paint finishes, alloy wheels, steering wheels, and interior trim and upholstery choices add modern touches to the exterior and interior of the vehicle. The new BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and innovative digital services based on the BMW Operating System 8.5 also contribute to the progressive character of the new BMW 2 Series Coupe.

The new BMW 2 Series Coupe will be launched on the market in August 2024. It will be manufactured at the BMW Group plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, alongside the new BMW M2 and BMW 3 Series.

Base MSRPs (+ $1,175 destination and handling).

2025 BMW 230i $39,200
2025 BMW 230i xDrive $41,200
2025 BMW M240i $50,100
2025 BMW M240i xDrive $52,100

New paint finishes and alloy wheel designs, available M Sport Professional Package.

The dimensions, body structure, drive concept, and chassis technology of the BMW 2 Series Coupe are formulated to convey the brand’s hallmark driving pleasure in a concentrated form. The distinctive front end with individual round headlamps, the horizontal BMW grille and the power dome on the long hood, the athletically modelled surfaces of the side view, the wide wheel arches, and the short rear deck lid give the BMW 2 Series Coupe an unmistakable appearance. With the design features of the M Sport Package – standard on M240i models, optional on 230i models – the new edition of the compact 2-door model expresses its dynamic character even more intensively. The M specific design includes extra-large air intakes at the front of the vehicle, powerful side skirts and a striking rear apron with vertical reflectors and a diffuser-like insert.

The new M Sport Professional Package, available as an option for all variants of the new BMW 2 Series Coupe, complements the dynamic exterior design with M Shadow Line lights, an M rear spoiler in black, and Extended Shadowline trim. The package also includes M Sport brakes (standard on M240i models) with red or blue brake calipers on 230i models, red calipers on M240i models.

The range of paint finishes for the new BMW 2 Series Coupe has been refreshed with two new metallic shades for 230i and M240i models, Vegas Red metallic and Skyscraper Grey metallic. Two BMW Individual paint finishes, Frozen Pure Grey metallic and Frozen Portimao Blue II metallic, are also available. Zandvoort Blue, previously exclusive to the M2, is now available for the BMW M240i.

New 19-inch alloy wheel designs are available as optional equipment for all models. M double-spoke wheels Style 995M are available in either a bi-color or Jet Black finsh, and BMW Individual Style 1038i Y-spoke wheels are available exclusively in a bi-color finish.

New touches of sportiness and digitalization on the interior.

More than ever before, the interior of the BMW 2 Series Coupe offers an ideal layout for an exhilerating driving experience for the driver and three passengers. The rear roof line, the high center console, and the harmoniously blended surfaces of the instrument panel and door panels create an atmosphere of both intimacy and space.

The interior modifications focus on digitalization. The BMW Curved Display comprises a 12.3-inch Information Display and a 14.9-inch Control Display that serve as a platform for the further developed BMW iDrive with QuickSelect based on the BMW Operating System 8.5. This means that the climate control functions, seat heating, and, if fitted, steering wheel heating can be operated by touch on the Control Display or by voice command. This is accompanied by a further reduction in the number of buttons and controls in the cockpit and a corresponding redesign of the instrument panel. New control knobs on the air vents in the center of the dashboard and on the driver's and passenger's side allow the direction of the airflow to be adjusted by turning and tilting.

The standard ambient lighting in the new BMW 2 Series Coupe also includes new waterfall lighting integrated into the covers of the central air vents. The color and brightness of the waterfall lighting can be adjusted to suit individual preferences, with nine colors to choose from. The individual color and brightness settings are stored in each driver’s profile. They also affect the lighting in the footwell, the storage compartment in the front of the center console and the contours of the door panels. The range of interior lighting functions also includes an atmospheric welcome and goodbye animation, including a carpet of light in the entrance area and light signals to indicate incoming calls or an open door.

New steering wheels, seat surfaces, and interior trim.

2025 BMW 230i models come standard with a new two-spoke wheel with a polygonal rim. The new M leather steering wheel, standard on M240i models and optional on 230i models as part of the M Sport Package, now features a steering wheel rim with a flat bottom, redesigned spokes, a red center marker at the 12 o'clock position, and contrasting stitching in the BMW M tricolor.

Standard heated sports seats for the driver and front passenger further enhance the driving experience in the new BMW 2 Series Coupe. Customers can now choose from four colors of perforated SensaTec, including new Tacora Red, and four colors of Vernasca leather, now featuring Black with Red Highlight.

The range of optional interior trims for the new BMW 2 Series Coupe also includes some attractive additions. M Fine Brushed Aluminum trim is now standard in M240i models. Fineline Light Open-pore and Ash Grey Blue Open pore Fine Wood trims are newly optional on all 2025 2 Series Coupes, while Carbon Fiber trim is optionally available in M240i models.

BMW Operating System 8.5 and BMW iDrive with QuickSelect.

In the new 2025 BMW 2 Series Coupe, the BMW Operating System 8.5 provides the basis for intuitive and convenient operation via the enhanced BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and the use of innovative digital services. The system is now even more consistent and can be operated using the touch function on the Control Display and natural language via the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. The current version of BMW iDrive features a new home screen that permanently displays the map view of the navigation system or another individually selectable display on a large surface. On the driver's side, widgets are displayed at the same level in a vertical bar and can be selected directly using the QuickSelect shortcut without having to switch to a submenu. The new, flat menu structure makes it much easier to navigate between the various functions and helps the driver of the new BMW 2 Series Coupe to concentrate on the traffic situation.

The BMW Maps navigation system, which comes as standard in the new BMW 2 Series Coupe, is based on the BMW Operating System 8.5 and offers even easier destination entry, additional information while driving, and further optimizations for fast and precise route guidance. In conjunction with the optional BMW Live Cockpit Professional, the full-color BMW Head-Up Display is supplemented by the Augmented View function. It enhances the navigation system's map display with contextual, real-time information. A live video stream from the driver's point of view is shown on the Control Display or the Information Display and supplemented with currently relevant information such as directional arrows for precise route guidance.

The new BMW 2 Series Coupe also makes it easier to link the vehicle to the customer's BMW ID and the My BMW App. A personal eSIM can be activated in the vehicle as standard. It uses the 5G mobile phone standard and allows customers to use the communication and networking features of their mobile phone contract in the vehicle - even if they do not have their smartphone with them. Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ is also standard.

This doesn't look like LCI, but rather new MY tweaks.

It's really not much difference. They took away the black side skirts making the car appear more fat. Im guessing the new M2 will adopt the black skirts because they just ended up on the new M3 and M4.

First mod would be getting rid of the front M logo

This has got to be the laziest “LCI” I’ve ever seen…

Oh boy, here we go!

Literally the same car but people will still find something to complain about.

Let me save you the trouble:

1) pre-LCI went up in value
2) bmw designers need to be fired
3) looks like a Kia
4) so glad I bought the pre-lCI
5) BMW is losing their way
6) idrive 8.5 climate control is terrible
7) they took away the ambient lighting

Six months later after seeing it in person….

It’s growing on me 😛

I wish they would offer a different seat option on the m240. That's my biggest complaint with my current m240 as I wish the seats had a bit more side and shoulder bolstering.

I’m fairly certain in the USA we’ll get the carbon options, but if it’s anything like the 4 and 3 series refresh, we won’t be getting the M seats as an option in the non-M variants (230 and m240).

I actually like my old seats more than the new ones. I do like that steering wheel though.

I'm super new to BMW, but in following the other "LCI" threads, is this the actual LCI or just a "shared parts update" as has been speculated in the other treads?

The steering wheel is the only thing I feel like I'm missing out on. Just ordered a 24 in May.

This still isn’t the LCI. Hopefully they will change the headlights and taillights in MY26 and do a few more interior upgrades.

Sensatec in Tacora Red is a great addition.

I could go either way on the painted sills. It's probably more color dependent, like on this vegas red I'd probably prefer to have it with black sills.

I love a flat bottom steering wheel but it sucks you have to give up the heated steering wheel button to get it. I've been in my iDrive 8 car for a few months now (after two years with ID7) and it's fine, but I miss the physical HVAC controls and heated seat buttons, so losing the last climate related button is a shame. I'm sure you'd get used to it though just like everything else.
