Active Autowerke axleback exhaust - Full DIY
If you have followed since my 435i or F87 M2C days, you know how much I love Active Autowerke and the quality of their products. I knew before I even ordered my G87 M2 that I would be running their exhaust on the new car as well.
The biggest thing I noticed about the G8X line is the exhaust is really tame for such a great car and motor, and this is the way to fix it. The new axleback exhaust is excellent, and pairs perfectly with their equal length midpipe as well. This is the full install DIY if you would like to do the work for your BMW G8X, and I will have a full exhaust tone comparison out next week! Check it out, I love the sound of my G87 M2 now very much. Moderate in efficient mode, and more than spicy enough for me with a deeper note in Sport Plus. Exactly what I wanted with the M2.

I have the AA EL midpipe as well wanting to add the axle back. How much louder did the cold starts get adding the axle back? Enough to annoy neighbors in the morning?

Cold start is louder for sure.. it's not obnoxious, but louder. I put in gear quickly to quiet down getting out early in the morning.

Thanks for the vid. Your work is incredibly helpful!
I did the single AA midpipe but still feel the sound is lacking. But I’m torn. Valves close I like the quiet ride. Valves open I’m wishing there was a more aggressive note. Will the AA cat back mix these two worlds?!?! Looking forward to your sound comparison video! |
