2023 G87 M2 Highly Modified - Time for a New Project
Early last year I got the call with an option to be the first to pick up the new M2 as long as I was content with the options pre-selected for the launch car. Of course I jumped on it as I knew the car would be transformed in a project that has lasted almost the entire time I owned it. I've decided it's time to move on to the next. I realize there will be a lot of people who go crazy and have lots to say over all the changes the car has undergone, but that's okay as it's been a pretty fun journey. From the folks at IND and CSF who were gracious to help us have many firsts during the journey. We've traveled the Dragon, to MPact (thank you CSF) where Rhys from R44 actually installed our new front lip onsite, and made many other stops along the way. This car has been just a fantastic project for my son and I to enjoy, but the time has come to move one as does happen for many of us motor heads. Taking a shot here to see if anyone is interested in skipping the year-long path to a modified M2 by listing it for sale. Here's a little bit about the car. Six speed manual transmission (only way to drive this car). 100% of the work has been completed by Felix Balines who has recently opened his own shop, GMST Speed. I met Felix at BMW Southpoint in Durham, NC where he took on my first project modifying a new X5M. From here this was our shared journey to build a unique and fun-to-drive M2. With just south of 11,100 miles the car has had no accidents and regular maintenance has been completed by BMW Southpoint and Leith BMW (recently completed 10k mile service and replaced a tire which had a slow leak). A couple things to note, both the front and rear bumper were painted by Hendrick Automotive (where I purchased the car - BMW Southpoint) as from the port it had those horrible over arch carbon pieces and the GT style front wings on the side of the bumper. All of these were glued on at the port and there was no way around painting them when they were removed. The entire car has been wrapped in matte PPF and has never been driven without the PPF. The windshield also has protectant film, but not before I caught two rocks on a roadtrip (both were filled, one is not visible and the other is below the line-of site on the very bottom of the windshield but has not spidered). Only the one tire was replaced, all are Micheline Sport Cup 4S from factory. Below is the entire list of modifications. Several of these are limited and almost all were sourced from IND (thanks Dylan). The system is comprised of AudioFrog component speakers for all speakers, 12" Stereo Integrity Subwoofer, and all are powered by two JL VXi amplifiers which are custom mounted behind the rear seats (you can see the sub from inside the car in the lighted enclosure when the rear armrest is down and the entire set-up with the seats down). Yes, it adds weight, but if you are an audiophile you will appreciate the attention given to round out the modifications in the car. I have many of the key factory engine components when the aftermarket parts were installed. I also have both keys. Additionally, I have the factory fenders. Lastly, as a bonus, IND was kind enough to send me the Alpha-N Carbon CSL Trunk Lid from their very own M2 (given they replaced theirs with the current seen in all their photos). This was paint matched by IND and PPFed with the same matted film used on the rest of the car, so can be changed out if you prefer the subtlety of CSL trunk lid. I might can get the OEM wheels (no tires) if that makes the deal, but I'm not 100% certain GMST kept them. I also have the original steering wheel to include. Happy to answer any questions and happy to assist with shipping, but at buyer's expense (will likely need enclosed for additional parts). Clean title in hand as I am the original owner. With any luck someone will have an opportunity to enjoy this amazing machine just like we have for the last year and half. Last edited by X5M2 NC; 07-13-2024 at 08:58 PM.. |
