I've found that the fuel consumption display on the car with iDrive 7 is always higher than what the app shows.

Anyone found that?

(I'm comparing fuel consumption in a particular day on the app vs iDrive for that day.)

If you keep a running tally to get the average from both calculations...you may find that the difference is negligible...or it could indicate a big difference.

I keep an excel spreadsheet of avg mpg were I track what the OBC says and what the avg mpg from every gas fill calculates to be. They may not always be the same results, but as I average out each column...by the end of the year they always end up being very close to each other.

Here's an example below from my old 2014 650ix GC...you can see that there's only a difference of 0.235066 MPGs when you compare the accumulated average of column G (calculation from tank miles and gallons of gas at previous fill-up) vs column H (OBC calculated MPGs that appears in the car's screen display):
