M2 attention

Being my first M and not sure if people experience this with other M models but this car draws so much attention! I wonder what aspects / features of the car catches everyones eyes (for people unfamiliar with BMW that is)? I thought this was one of the more controversial cars in the looks department but seems like people all love it when they see it in person.

Not a single day that I go out for a drive, do I not get thumbs up, a comment or someone taking pics/video of the car. At least one of those 3.

Had someone ask me to rev the car at a light in NYC, did so, they took a video. Cop came up to me, told me the car looks sick, but it's illegal to do that. Don't do it next time, got a fist bump. So it's definitely something that gets a ton of attention.

Have now gotten used to it, before everyone staring or pointing, glaring or stopping to look, would make my gaze turn to theirs. Now I am noticing it less and less, but it's still there. All 3 things I mentioned at the beginning, happened today in the span of a 20 minute drive.

Car is just different. Mine is a ZB color and cognac interior, so even more so do people look at it and specially women love the color.

I think it largely depends on the area in which you live. My M2 got a decent amount of attention at cars & coffee this weekend, but generally on the street nobody pays it any attention. There's too many much higher priced vehicles & exotics in my area for the M2 to stand out.

I have a 25 on order in Sao Paolo Yellow, I have a feeling it'll be just like when I got my Supra early in 2020; nothing but love from everyone except the "die hard purist."

I get a lot of attention. Always positive. People love the Zandvoort Blue.

I live in an area where there is every model and generation of Porsche, Lambo, McLaren, Ferrari plus a Bugatti here and there and all kinds of Americanmuscle (and others I am sure I am forgetting). Numerous built M cars and RSs are abound. I still get attention, moreso for the obvious fact it's modded and built beyond stock.

Ditto. I get stopped at lights on the regular. Women especially love ZB.

Have to add to the chorus. My ZB M2 gets plenty of attention more so than any other car I've owned.

Just about every time I have the car out I get a thumbs up, or if I'm out of the car a "nice car" or "I love your car" comment

I live in an area without much "car culture" and drive a BSM G87. I get remarkably little attention, what I do get is always from other enthusiasts. This is perfect for me, the car is for me to experience and enjoy, not be seen in.

I bet color and location plays a huge role in the attention received. I bet the purple, yellow and green 25s will get plenty of attention.

Agreed the ZB garners a fair amount of attention. It's still relatively rare in the area even with plenty of other cars 3-5x the price. I do wonder if Java was available on MY24 and I went that way if it would have been any different. *shrug*

I get lots of attention, comments, compliments from my BGM. Females do love the color. I love riding with the windows open and let the sun hit the carbon Buckets and dark blue leather highlight. Black wheels. Everything about it stands out.

I live in NYC and am in NJ often and my experience is a bit different. I get a few looks here and there, got one ask for a rev, but nothing out of the ordinary if you've owned any mass production, semi-modern sports car before. TR w/ cognac for reference, I can see ZB getting more attention.

The nice thing is that it is a good conversation starter with the performance/driving car nerds since it's more of an "if you know you know" type of car, at least in the landscape of modern cars.

My car gets a lot of attention. Now granted it's not exactly stock but regardless, I get a lot of thumbs up and people taking pictures and videos. This happens just about every time I drive it. I don't mind people snapping pics and videos at stoplights or as I drive by, but when it's on the freeway, that's a bit much. I'd rather not cause an accident.
Oh and I live in a more affluent area of the country, the PNW, where in the summer months there's every kind of exotic driven around town, hell there was a Type 57 Bugatti at the car show on Saturday.

I've driven 911s and owned an e46 and e92 M3.. My m2 in 3 months has gotten more thumbs up and 2nd looks and comments at the gas station than all those cars combined.. People love this car. It doesn't look like anything else.. the e46 and e92 to a non car person looked no different than the 3 series they were based on, which were everywhere. New 2, 3, and 4 series aren't nearly as popular now that everyone goes for SUVs for basic daily drivers.

I will concede the color is a tad feminine. However, the stance and shape of the car exude masculinity. It is a great combo.

Just giving a hard time, having fun. Color's are completely subjective. Truly a whatever floats boat etc thing.

my BG stock M2 gets very little attention on the road. coming from a stock BSM A90 Supra that got so much attention - i've had ppl hanging out of rear passenger windows trying to film while i drove past.

think the M2 looks a little too "executive" in grey to grab attention. ZB is definitely the more striking color out in the sun. but a little washed out parked indoors.

Here's a new one. Some kid slowed down to look at it and then sped off to probably showoff. Drove into a CRV at the intersection and then into the stoplight.
