Mishimoto (I am assuming the fitment will be the same from the MY23 & 24 to the MY25).

The ZunSport screens are more than sufficient unless you plan to go off-road. And in that case buy a Jeep.

There are several threads on the topic.

I disagree in the ZunSport being "more than sufficient" but that is why they make chocolate and vanilla.

If you run over something large enough to break/get through the ZunSport screen, you're going to have bigger issues.

Roads are chock full of out of place “obstacles”. If you’ve driven long enough it’s not surpring to see rocks, metal objects, etc. that will puncture that screen at highway speed.

It is not sufficient, it’s a gamble.

IMO

I agree, no protection is infallible, however, it won't take much to breach the ZunSport, IMO. For the cost I have into the car, the extra couple hundred dollars I spent on the Mishi was a no brainer.

Do you/have you had the ZunSport grille? I'm just curious as to what you think is going to puncture the stainless steel mesh screen? If it were plastic, like some have installed, I'd agree with you. Unfortunately, I drive I35 between Austin & Dallas weekly, it's literally a minefield of trash & "obstacles". I had 3 front splitters broken on my 330e in the course of 17 months before I gave up & didn't install another. That car was also hit by a kicked up tire tread that shattered my head light, fog light, lower grilles & one of those splitters ($4k in damage). So believe me, if I didn't think the ZunSport was good enough protection after receiving it, I would've spent more on something more substantial.

Fine, believe what you wish.

It doesn’t make it right for everyone.

Like vanilla and chocolate as a wise man once said.

this is by far the smallest one with the best coverage and also retains the front plastic trim. And price is reasonable and made in the US

You stated it was not sufficient protection and road obstacles could puncture it. I asked you to explain further or support your statements. If you don't have or haven't had the product, nor point to anyone who has the product having oil cooler damage, then you're just making unsubstantiated claims. You could've just said you prefer to put an offroad skidplate on your performance car and left it at that.

My experience with the product is that I have almost 9k mi on the car since installing the screens, drive regularly on some of the crappiest, "obstacle"-filled roads & haven't experienced the screen being damaged or punctured. Thus supporting my opinion that it's sufficient protection.

First, you missed “IMO”. Read the entire post, slowly this time.

Second, your limited experiences on 1 road in 1 state are not remotely representative of 50 states, tens of thousands of roads, thousands of G87 owners, weather variables, and millions of potential road hazard events contained within them.

It seems that there are reasons and situations to choose among the options. I’ve had the zunsport on for about 4K and have no complaints. It did seem to be strong enough when received to ease my concerns. I could be wrong in the end, but so far very happy with choice. Could see in other situation why a more robust option would be preferred but our roads are pretty good.

Totally agree.
There is no “one size fits all” suitable for all situations product. I’ve driven in 42 of the 50 states and roads/ road conditions vary wildly.

Some surprisingly don’t understand that simple concept.
