Getting my springs and spacers on before my breakin

What do you guys think? I never modded any of my BMWs before the breakin. I understand that is just springs and spacers, but has any of you did something similar without any issues from the Service Advisor.

They don’t care about anything. Whether before or after the 1,200mi mark. If something blows up, then they care. If you throw a JB4 or complete single-turbo swap on the car, it’ll get flagged whether before or after. Makes no difference. The break-in is just a mile marker to swap the break-in fluids out with real fluids. Only time it’ll matter is if something breaks and you want it covered by warranty, whether pre or post break-in.

Not 100% correct. If you take it in after an ecu unlock (and you don't have a trustworthy SA or contact in the service department) and they run any updates, your ecu will no longer be unlocked.

They can re-lock it?

Its not that they are "re-locking" it but any software updates (no matter who initiates it, including the car owner) will automatically lock it back up. Once you unlock, you must change all settings relatibg to software updates/auto updates to off on the iD8 and your app.

To be honest I don't plan on DME tuning. After the spacers and springs, I am just going to do a Dinan midpipe and I would be done.

My MP HAS was port installed so that was already lowered but I had spacers on when waiting for forged wheels and swapped in the AA EL mid as well prior to break in appointment. Video they provided of break in service mentioned exhaust looks to be in good shape and that was about it. So as Rob mentioned as long as you aren't messing with the ecu I wouldn't expect any issues at your appointment.

At around the mile 10 mark. Zero cares.

Get the suspension done early - brand new fasteners with no road grime build-up is a pleasure to work on.

Did you get the Eibach Part #: E10-20-057-01-22 (USA) or E10-20-052-03-22 (Euro)?

I got the US 01-22 part number. EAS did the install. It only took a couple of hours.

Just a side note, I do get rubbing on the vents inside the wheel well. I took my dremel out and grinded them back a tad and that helped a lot. I need to take the wheels off to clean up the grind. It was rubbing bad. Its weird it only rubs going backing out.

Thanks for the info

I think it is rubbing all the time but is more noticeable backing up because the wheels are rotating clockwise and catching on the downward-facing vents. I would just cut them out and replace them with these https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568...2usa4itemAdapt

The Dremel helped, but I need to find tune it. I will probably move into the AliExpress parts.

Looks awesome! Does 15mm in front and rear make the wheels sit flush with the fenders or are they protruding/recessed a bit?

Online when buying spacers at for example the IND site they recommend 15f/12r so I'm guessing that's flush but for rears some people like a little more aggressive and go with 15mm or 18mm. In the last Pic side 3/4 shot the rears look like they protrude a little mostly towards bottom of the wheel arch but it's nothing crazy and not that noticeable. At the top it seems pretty close to flush. I'm still debating on what to get for the rears when I take delivery.

Same, I want to have the essentials ready to go on delivery day. Still have ~1 month to stack up parts.
