Weight Measurement - Tires Mounted & Balanced
FYI for anyone doing research or curious on actual measured weights of tires mounted and balanced on wheels.
Here is the wheel and tire specs in this test; Set of 4 Superspeed Flowform RF05RR 19x9.5 ET10 in satin bronze with Vredestein 275/35/19 winter tires. I weighed each of them and they all came in at around 49.4 to 50 lbs each. This is the combined weight of the wheel and tire, mounted and balanced. The data was gathered using my simple bathroom scale where I weighed myself (without holding anything), then picked up 1 wheel/tire and weighed myself again. Subtract the two measurements and got the 49.4 to 50 lbs range. I measured 3 wheels, with 2 measurements each for a total of 6 measurements. Chose not to weight the 4th wheel because the measurements were consistent enough for my purposes. Interesting to note: Superspeed estimates this size wheel weighs roughly 21 lbs. I then found an estimate for a comparable winter tire (Blizzak LM-32 in the same 275/35/19 size) which estimated 30 lbs. so yeah, actual measured weights fall very much in line with the wheel and tire weight estimate. Here is the tire estimator website I found: https://tiresize.com/tires/Bridgesto...-275-35R19.htm I will plan to do the same thing with the OEM wheels/tires when I do the winter wheel setup swap probably in late October or November.
