Angry Speed Limit Warning Re-activating by itself?

I picked up a 2024 M240i 3 weeks ago and the salesman told me that you can deactivate the speed limit warning by holding the "set" button on the steering wheel - but this needs to be done on every start of the car which I can deal with.

However, I always deactivate the warning but it will always just re-activate itself. I notice it seems to do this if I leave the motorway or join the motorway. Is this by design or is there anything I can do to make sure it doesn't come back on by itself during trips?

Congratulations on your new car.
I have had my car for 2 days now and it has that too.
It comes back on after the car has been off.
I have not driven on the highway yet.
It is required by law in my country (Belgium) for new cars from July 2024.
I think it is required throughout Europe.
Fortunately you can turn it off with the set button and you do not have to search in the menu, but it is annoying.

Resolved this now by the way - I had a software update and now the warning doesn't re-activate by itself during trips. But still have to turn it off at the start of every trip.
