335i v.s. IS350
IS350 : 0-60 in 5.3 sec. I didn't know the 350 is that quick! They have the 335 about the same. But when you chip the 335i w/ the twin turbos, you will wasting the IS350. That's the first thing I'm going to do, CHIP!

No need to chip the 335i, I believe the stock 335i will take the IS350 with one eye close. Few things you need to know, albeit both vehicles having the almost the same HP on paper, the 335i will leave the IS350 in the dust due to the following reasons: 1. I strongly believe the official HP & Torque numbers are understated. 2. Better drivetrain efficiency. 3. Supreme Torque that will give acceleration all the way. 4. The E90 chasis is better than the IS350 chasis Getting off the line, will find the IS350 scrambling for its dear life. Last edited by chonko; 06-01-2006 at 10:20 PM.. |

The Lexus crowd= fancy lads.
The IS350 will take you, on a straight line, from Point A to Point B in a hurry. However, most roads are not straight and can be rather curvy. That is where the 335i will crush an IS350's bravado into the dirt.

The 328i will leave the IS250 very close to point A, and the 335i will leave the IS350 1/4 mile short of point B regardless of straights or turns. |

The same thought crossed my mind. And yes, I do believe that the 328 will battle a rear guard action with the IS (any model) while the 335 will face down its real opponent: the Audi S4, leaving the mythical M3 (and its reputed V8 420 hps) to duel with DarthRS4. May the blowoff valve be with the Bimmer. |

I think we gotta give Lexus the credit it deserved. IT's only the 2nd generation and they've made a wonderful car. Yes we know BMWs handle better but we cant be so close-minded as to think Lexus is crap.
I dont know- this topic has been discussed many times before and it's pretty much the same result time and time again. Most people will defend BMW to the death because they own one (except enthusiasts that is) and some, who are open-minded, have actually recognized that Lexus has created one heck of a car. That is all...haha |

Yes you are correct (even though I have always viewed the AMGs as a lot of engine, not enough of everything else-like the German equivalent of a Baracuda), the AMGs are all heavy and don't handle all that well, but they are bloody fast in a straight line. |
