New Car - quick question

I picked up my 325 yesterday and have put 600 KM on it. You can tell that the breaks have to seat as they are pretty touch, but I am finding the downshifting at really low speeds to be off. Or in orther words it's not the smoothest when downshifting below 20Km/hour. Does the engine just need to loosen up?

Thanks

TF

To be honest, I haven't noticed TF, I don't find the downshifting too bad. Could it be that you're simply getting used to the clutch? I know it's got a much lower sweet spot than my previous car, and that took a little getting used to.

As an aside, was it you who posted the other day about being worried about your 300km commute to take delivery? If so, how did the drive back go and how did you manage it?

I guess I should have mentioned it is automatic.

The drive back went well - stoped at every rest stop on the way. Played around with 5th/6th gear in step mode and alternated speed the whole way. From now on it will be stop and go traffic so she should be fine.

Cheers

Depends a lot on how you drive it. The trans will "learn" your habits and adjust to optimize shifts accordingly. Also, there is a bit of a wear in factor but not much. If you accelerate hard you are going to feel it though.

It's not on acceleration as that part is very smooth. Its on deceleration as very low speeds (under 20 km). It kinda feels like it is downshifting two early.

DS mode can do that, probably in anticipation of a quick start but it is not treeibly noticeable unless you compare it with D mode.

D mode cruises to a stop staying in higher gears for a smooth ride.

Give your car time to break in as well.

600kms is quite a lot in one day. Did you go country driving?

That's what if feels like - coasting, coasting, then drop from 3rd to 2nd to first - almost as if I was a bad standard driver.

400 Km - mixed freeway. 200+ cruising the streets

TF1: I see waht you're saying now. like David said, DS mode does that, while in D mode I don't even notice the downshifts at all, it's really smooth in D.
