Hi folks!

First post here. In the process of getting my first BMW (unless you count the supra ). I’ve owned several sporty cars in the past. Gt350, C7 Z51, A90 Supra and more. The one common thing they all shared is some underlip scraping when leaving, entering my driveway. Not too bad, but still annoying none the less.

I was wondering whether you M2 owners deal with the same thing, or where those other cars I owned just naturally lower/longer over hang?

No issues with mine, whereas I have to take my driveway at 45* angle in my Z06 and still scrape sometimes. I believe I measured over 5" from the ground to the underside of the front fascia on my M2.

I have a pretty steep driveway but was OK at stock height with the right angle. Lowered, there was no chance, so I got some heavy duty rubber curb ramps that I use to make the angle a little more gradual and I haven't scraped. I just store them under the car and drag them out before I leave which is a PITA, but I don't drive it daily so it's not the end of the world.

My car HAS optioned was fully lowered at the port and measures 5 3/4” ground to car with factory tires/wheels.

I’m very careful on speed bumps and inclined entries.

standard ride height is more than adequate for daily activities. i drive everywhere in it including unpaved roads and driveaways and crappy ski resort parking lots and havent bottomed out or scraped yet (which some will argue means that my car isnt low enough )

Ironically the front approach clearance on the G87 is incredibly generous.

I was unable to drive up my G42 (m240i) onto rhino ramps because the front bumper was too low. The G87 is able to drive up them just fine.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. This is very reassuring. My previous sports cars were not my daily drivers, but I’m hoping I can treat the M2 as one.

Based on the fact your other cars have scraped I'm going to hazard a guess the M2 will scrape, too.

Ok. Update. You guys were right! The M2 has much higher front-end ground clearance compared to my previous “sporty coupes”. What a relief. I can finally drive around without worrying about exiting parking structures or parking against curbs. No scrapes against my driveway. Hazza!

Well, that's good news. Guess drives in southern CA are less abrupt than in northern CA.
