My passenger side mirror turns down toward curb by default in reverse. I imagine it’s gotta be in iDrive if not already enabled. Doesn’t help me a ton since I do the blind spot angles but if I go with the euro mirror someday it’s gonna be awesome

Make sure your mirror switch is flipped to the drivers side.

Exactly, the stock positioning when angled down is useless. That said, my time as a valet in college with a boss who required every car parallel parked to have their mirrors lined up with one another proved invaluable to learning how to park without any "assistive devices"

I'm with ya. Grew up in the era of fixed mirrors, manual trans, sometimes no power steering or brakes. lol.

So true...and so annoying! haha

This is the first car where it angles so far down it's not actually helpful!

I can honestly say I've never curbed a wheel on any of my 43 vehicles to date - knock on wood. Watch, now I'll go out & scrape the crap out of one my wheels

Same here. In fact, I'm pretty sure the truck I drove in high school had brakes as an option instead of a standard feature lol. Still not sure how I never rear ended anyone.

April 2016, wife walks in and says to the effect, "You know, Darling, I've been really reflecting on the recent death of Prince and what an incredible musician he was and how fortunate we are for what we have."

Me, " What did you hit?"

Her, "I curbed the BMW in the Starbucks drive through."

Me, "Let me show you my shocked face. "

My wife had to ask me earlier this year for the name of a wheel powdercoating shop I use. Then said "before you even ask, yes I don't know how I did it, but I scraped the front wheel (on her X3MC) pulling up to my mom's house. Don't say a word, I'm more pissed than you could be". She's just as particular about her vehicles as I am about mine which makes us a good match

My wife came home and saw me and started crying. I had no clue what was going on.

She had gone to some store that was busy and had limited parking. Employee told her to pull into a tight spot. There was a rock near the curb and scraped it all along the driver door.

She was pissed in general, pissed at herself, and mostly thought I'd be extremely upset.

The part that upset her most was that we reverse park 100% of the time, but this place was so hectic and crowded the employee and the cars around her didn't really allow for that. If she reverse parked, the scratch wouldn't have happened.

I taught her the benefits of reverse parking a long time ago. What I should have taught her was how to park in the back of the parking lot and to WALK into the Bucks of Stars. 🤣

We always reverse park. Last month wife came out and immediately saw white paint on the corner of her front bumper and paint scraped off. I had just detailed her car that morning. She was parked near a gym so I told her to check if they had security cameras - they did. Cops come out & check the tape, sure enough a white car across from hers backs up and hits her car. The cop says the guy gets out, looks at her car, gets back in and hits it again before driving off.

The gym manager says she knows who it is & will call the cops the next time he comes in. Week goes by, gym calls the cops & this time a different cop comes out, talks to the guy who says he didn't hit our car, looks at the video and calls my wife to tell her the video was inconclusive & the guy does have any blue paint on his car (no shit) so he can't do anything

I had to stop my wife from speeding down to the gym and confronting the guy. Now my wife is trying to justify buying an X5MC because her X3MC is tainted
