Because they haven't done shit for almost 20 years. I was really into the G37 when that came out and my girlfriend had an EX35 which we both loved.
They were literally selling that same unchanged G37 and EX35 until like a week ago. |

Infiniti has been trash for years now. The new Redsport series just doesn't have the umph it needs to make it a contender with anything really. It's sad, but it will probably be on the chopping block soon.

The problem Infiniti has is the same problem Nissan has, and it isn't product, it's price.
Nissan and Infiniti both are trying to price themselves at the pricing of their competitors that are better in reputation, better in quality, better in resale, etc. Their product that actually matters (SUVs) is fairly fresh, but they're downsizing motors like everyone else, and hitting price points that a higher tier rival like Honda or Cadillac or Lincoln would be at. If stuff like the Rogue was selling at a 20-30% discount vs a rav4 or crv or Tucson, they'd sell better. But a loaded Rogue is $48k. New Armada and QX80 are priced right in line with a Tahoe and escalade or expedition and navigator, and reality is that's not where they are brand wise. The incentive based sales setup for them is what's holding them back. If they stopped doing discounts and just slashed MSRP by 20% across the board people might buy them more. |

EX35 was a cool but weird product. It was a hatchback pretending to be an SUV, and lived in it's own weird little segment. To be honest I thought they discontinued that like 10 years ago. |

Nissan lost me so many years ago. I'd still have the right S13, R32, and R34, but that's where it ends.
Every once in a while I'll hear an R35 and be like, wow, what a sound. Or there's this Q50 Red Sport I see now and again that has a great front end, even with the basket, but that's all the car has. Sad, really. |

Such a shame what happened to the brand, I felt like the downturn occurred when they brought Johan de Nysschen as the CEO in 2012 and he screwed up the brand and left in 2014. Here is another video below:

I bought a brand new 2004 Infinti G35 Coupe 6MT way back when and it was such an amazing car at that time (still is in my opinion). I never looked at the brand again though, their products just kept getting worse and worse.

I had a 1999 Maxima SC 5-Speed. I loved that thing!!!!!! Made it to 155K miles with nothing but tires, brakes and a coil pack. Sold it to a dealer for $5500
Buddy had a 2000 or 2001, total POS, another had a mid 2000's Pathfinder, another POS... I bought a 2004 330Ci to replace it.

I remember really liking the g35 when it first came out but I could only afford a honda at the time. Shame, they had potential.
Does anyone remember that superbowl commercial with the "eau rouge" q50? Tha would've been something. |

Infiniti had all the potential in the world. In the mid to late 00s they were ON FIRE. But they squandered it. The G37 was a good car, but not as good as the G35. The FX35 redesign looked worse. Then they basically did nothing for a decade except the Q60 coupe which looked worse than the G37, and change all their names so nobody knew wtf they were.
The Q50 Red Sport 400s had potential, but they let it die on the vine. Infiniti also suffered from the same issue as Nissan, too many fleet sales and they got too cheap secondhand. They ended up getting a pretty shit reputation in the income levels they were trying to sell into because of this, which meant people didn't want them. I hope they can turn it around.... But I doubt they can. |

loved our old G35 coupe...one of our favorite cars we've had the last 20 years.
Their fullsize SUV's especially their flagship the QX80 are just ugly..... Never helps when your cars are ugly |

Same here...loved it. Bought it new in its second model year (2004). It was the Japanese 3 Series of that time.
