Clicking sound when hitting gas

Well this evening i was coming back from a friends house and noticed that every time put my foot on the gas pedal it makes a "click" sound. Now this sound only occurs when I put my foot back onto the gas pedal after taking it off previously. The sound is coming from the padal. I checked for any sticky substance or small rocks on both my shoe and the pedal and could not find anything.

Anyone any advice???

Check and see if there is a cable attached to the gas pedal . I don't know if BMW uses a different system or not. I know that some older cars you can see the cable extended thru the firewall. Maybe something there is causing the noise.

There is no cable, as far as I know the gas control is electronic. It could be a loose connection between the pedal and electronic control module that gives the computer the instructions as to gas modulation.

If it's not that, try removing your tap dancing shoes.
