2025 M240ix suspension question
I have had my 2025 M240ix for about 2 months and still getting used to it. It seems like when I go over some rougher or uneven roads there is some suspension "thumping" from the rear. It's not extreme but I wonder if this is normal. I am using comfort setting.

Sounds like you might still have shipping blocks installed on the rear suspension? https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2042308

It's been an issue since I had my G42 in late 2021. Strut tower replacements under warranty seem to have mixed results, assuming you can get the dealer/corporate to approve a repair.
It's been a while since I looked at any of the G42 stuff. It appears some people solved the issue isolating the parcel shelf from making noise. I definitely heard the clunking noise when I was off camber at low speeds going over uneven road surfaces. I hope you can figure it out! https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1903609

Known "defect" in the G42 M240 (not sure if same with the 230). During my last visit for maintenance, they replaced the shocks. Made it a little quieter but still there... It is not an issue with the G87 (to those from a different thread saying the G42 and G87 are basically the same beyond the drivetrain, take notice.. ). |
