C3Z tanzanite vs C3ZM vs garage door

We had a contest between the garage door and the trunk. As a result I'd like to find some touch up paint. It says c3zm on the door, which google says is modified. Is that something I can buy from BMW?

Not sure what you can get from BMW but Dr Colorchip probably has what you need.

I recently had a garage door vs open hatch on my 2025 x5 and I plan to fix it using Dr Colorchip.

C3Z is Tanzanite Blue - perhaps the M = metallic. BMW touch-up is here:

https://www.bmwpartsdeal.com/parts/b...912465727.html

You should be able to get/order it from BMW of Fairfax ($38 online price) or Sterling ($46 online) if you're in NoVA. They say can't ship it (contains hazardous materials), but BMWPartsDeal.com doesn't seem to have an issue shipping it.

Thank you. I also requested a quote out of curiosity from a local place to see what they wanted to fix it, I'll add that once received to this thread.

****Wow. That could have been much much worse!. My gal pal did this to her Mercedes SUV and it not only scratched it but put a nice gouge and dent in the lid!

I will show her your video and tell her BMW's are just built better and tougher which is why yours was only a small scratch!

Yes yes, I DO love living dangerously....

I think it was helped by this piece of foam (over the garage door 'handle') I put on before I trusted the height adjustment on the door!

Eyeballing it I think the foam pushed on the license plate maybe and then the screw got it. Still not totally sure.

Trust issues aside, I feel better with the foam there - a concern is that an idrive software update might clear out that door setting.

I'm thinking of changing to a larger piece of foam now to also cover the screw just below the foam.

One of these curtain obstruction sensors might be of use:

Also, I like this double line laser better than a tennis ball:

Summary of the quote attached ~$2700. He mentioned that personally he would use the touch up paint, that I can get from the local BMW place.
