ordered car in back in October. Twlight Purple.
The status hasn't changed since then (4+ months later ; still the screen of death). FML.

At this point, should i just cancel and get a different brand?
Advise. I am very patient person, i waited for Twlight Purple since intro of f87. :-( Feeling a little frustrated to say the least.

***correction. Ordered on 8/28/2024 not October. August 28, 2024. I calculated 4+ months but typed October for some reason. I just double checked the paperwork. :-(

October until now isn’t 4+ months. You should reach out to your SA for an update. Some of the other threads on here are stating at least 6 months for an individual color. That’s not that long if you really want a TP G87 unless you were also seriously considering something else.

October 1, 2024 to January 1, 2025 is 3 months.

Did your dealer not let you know it'd be ~6 months? My BSM took 4 months so 6 for individual is not bad. They try to group orders together so that several of each color go through at a time, this is a big reason for the delay. Once your order enters production it's a fast process. Hang in there a little longer!

You have an allocation and I'm in the same boat.

We may possibly be in the same production run. As you can see I'm at "Order Received" also TP.

Individual colors can add 8-12 weeks to an order and possibly longer in rare cases.

It looks like they are waiting for enough TP to batch the cars. Individual colors are always batched together because once a paint container is opened they have X amount of time before the pain expires.

The person last in the batching actually waits the least. My allocation was 2 weeks ago, so my wait probably won't be as long as your wait.

My i4 was a full year late due to the Ukraine war and availability of wiring. Then they had production issues with the new 20" wheels.

Ordering a BMW will get you to learn patience, if nothing else.

You might also want to edit your photo and get rid of your production number.

I was in the same boat though, my car was delayed 6 months for the carbon pack. Took 9 months from allocation to delivery. Almost 2 yrs from original waitlist to delivery.

What do you need the car for in the middle of winter though anyway? Will be better to get it in Spring... if you've been waiting since F87 days what is a couple more months for a special color? I'd have happily waited longer if individual was a thing when I ordered. Switch brands bc of that??

It was 8/28/2024 signing date. So not October bu really August 28/2024

Partly cuz i already bought mods for the car and want to buy more stuff, but if car doesn't come soon enough. it's just waste. :-(((

Allocation date is when you start counting.
Without the allocation, there is absolutely no order. What is the date of your VIR?

Well, I can tell you until you have an allocation they aren't building a car.

Until you have a VIN all dates are speculation.

So planning on a date until they are actually building the car is going to leave you disappointed. Even after they build the car it can sit at the departing port for weeks until they fill the ship.

OP, if you're anxious to take delivery of an M2 and flexible on color and/or equipment, there are dozens in dealer stock across the country (excluding Priority 1 -- a.k.a. customer-ordered -- cars).

The dealership told me it would go into production much sooner, but I called genius back in August and was told week 7 of 2025 production begins. I called genius again a couple weeks ago and it’s at week 9 now. I just told myself from the start to expect April/May delivery.

There are some Twilight Purples on Cars dot com. If you can’t wait, maybe call them to confirm they have those cars and travel to get one if they are optioned the way you want

I ordered on sept 21st twilight purple it was 4 months until I received a production code and called bmw USA and I’m projected to be a week 3 build … if you have a production code call bmw
