Is there a “secret” handshake in the M world? 😂🤝

Coming from the Impreza WRX world, whenever we would pass another one, we’d give the peace sign ✌️. I’m not sure how this came to be, or how I even knew to start doing it, but it’s a nice little culture thing I guess.

Just curious if there’s one for the ///M world of BMW as well.

The secret handshake is first 3 fingers upside down in the form of an "M".

Just be careful, in some neighborhoods, that might get you in trouble.

Gotta be careful with the handshake for sure, and know your audience...

There is... IF you have a pretend M car or a car with an M package,
you get flipped the bird a lot or the hand gesture which we refer to as wanker in the uk. google it up

Those of us drive around permanently with our heads down in a constant state of shame.

In fact I know several drivers who park at the very edge of a big car park to avoid being noticed, and hide our key emblems when we go to the pub.

I am one of thoes driving around in a pretend BMW, one day I hope to drive a real BMW and join society

"Some" neighborhoods refers to 99% of the neighborhoods. Between gang-like signs and the perverted OK sign, 3-finger signs are simply dangerous. That said, I think it would be hilarious is someone actually tried my "M" secret handshake and posted videos.

Being my first BMW - I just assumed it was the middle finger. I do it to every Beemer I see. So far it seems like I was right - they all do it right back!

Almost as friendly as when I’m out in my Wrangler.

In the 70s owners flashed their lights at each other, but BMWs in the US were scarce. Early 80s we'd give a wave to a fellow owner. Now, so many are leased that owners don't know what they're driving & are distracted anyway, so no effort made (by me) unless it's from the 90s or older.

The secret handshake is hitting the so called "turn signal" stalk and letting it go a few blinks. That is why it's there.
