The Track Wheel/Tire Thread
Track season about to begin so I'm starting this thread to discuss the wheel/tire options and sizes for our platform. Searched around but info is all over the place.
Let us know which tires you've tried, please include wheel and tire sizes and a quick review of your experience. Any other info like alignment specs or supporting mods are appreciated. Thankfully looks like there are plenty of new 200tw options now available to choose from. Looking forward to hear your feedback. Last edited by sebaflex; 01-09-2025 at 11:10 AM.. |

19x11 square with Goodyear 3r in 305/30/19.
Super grippy beefy tire. Takes a lap or two to come up to temp but lasts full sessions and doesn’t get greasy unless pressures get too high. I’ve run these for years on all my track cars. Good value for grip. If you have USAA insurance you can also get them 25% off which usually makes the decision easier. Tread wise they won’t last as long as a 200tw like re71rs or Nankang, but those will likely heat cycle out before they cord. 3r will cord before cycling out |

My old zl1 1le would cord the front tires in a weekend at circuit of the Americas. M2 is carrying similar speeds so the front geometry is a bit better |

I have run Nankang CRS (V1), Goodyear 3R, and Hoosier Track attack Pro.
I got 6 days out of the Nankangs and 3 days out of the 3R. I probably could have gotten a 4th day out of them but the next track event was 2 days and I didn't think that I would get 5 days out of them. The jury is still out on the H-TAPs because I have only had one day on them. So far they are great tire getting up to temperature before the 1st lap is even complete. They are several pounds lighter than other tires which is a plus.

This is my research on 200TW tyre options from 295-325. I'm from AUS though, so may be slightly different everyone else.

Running 295/30/19 ECF on 19x11 as I learn the car, and not a big fan of these. They last long and are consistent, but not a lot of feedback which makes it hard to feel the limit compared to SC3/RS4.

I purchased square 19x11 2forge wheels and 305/R19 AR-1s for starters.
Though Im disappointed on 2forge weight. Advertised as lightweight wheels, reality is different. Should have gone with 18x11 |
