2 cameras in the windshield?
I didn’t know my M2 had 2 cameras in the front. I always thought it was just one (up near the top). Mine has one right at the front of the rear view mirror at the tip of that long plastic housing. Is this a new thing for ‘25 lci?

I believe that these systems are standard on the MY25 cars (I could be mistaken) The top cam is for the KAFAS (Camera based driver assistance system) and the bottom one that lives in the mirror housing is for FLA or High Beam assist.

would be nice if a dash cam feature could be activated via use of either of those cameras. I’d be happy to pay to activate such a feature as I’m currently looking at dash and for when mine is delivered but am not looking forward to running a cable through the car to power a third party camera.

Did earlier ones not have FLA or is this just for cars equipped with dynamic headlights?

The bottom one is actually for augmented directions in the cluster using BMW’s maps app.

Dunno when it was introduced, but it’s in my ‘25 M2 and it’s bananas. After the initial wow/WTF!? factor wore off, I realized the tech guy who walked me thru the car at delivery was right: Super useful when navigating in unfamiliar territory, but more of a party trick around town.
I believe this only shows up when navigating with the BMW nav (not via CarPlay, for example), and you have the right screen selected in the cluster. |

It’s definitely an LCI thing - my 2024 doesn’t have the second camera or the on screen augmented reality stuff

I have a manual 25 with HUD but no ACC. Will check tomorrow morning if I can get this visualization to work.

I believe you have to be in the standard gauge display and use the bmw maps with a destination selected. Then once then directions start you have to cycle through your center display options and change to the live cockpit augmented display.
