Driver side seat issue when car is running

Curious if anyone else has the same issue or a possible fix. This is mainly a winter issue.

I start my car to warm it up and when I go let me kids in the back seat via the driver side the seat won't slide to the front when the handle is pulled, however it will when not running. The passenger side slides open when the car is running or not.

Car states "Drivers seat back not locked"

Is this a safety feature or an issue? Anyone have a fix?

Thank you.

This may be working correctly, but also may be due to seat calibration being required. In the manual for seat calibration it states "1. Press the longitudinal direction switch forward until the seat stops. 2. Press the switch forward again until the seat stops".

If you haven't applied the parking brake, it is also worth doing that to see if it changes the behaviour.

I bet it is a safety thing when the car is running so that the driver doesn't get squeezed. You can try with the parking brake engaged, that may help but I'm willing to bet the drivers seat stays locked out when the car is running.
