"CD Error" on front loader
Hi,
I'm new to this forum, so please be kind. Took delivery of my new 320i on Thursday. When I got home, I wanted to try out the sound system, but when I loaded a disc into the front load CD player (Professional system), it started to read the disc (no audio, no track indicator, but you can hear the laser) and after a few seconds it displayed "CD Error" and ejected the disc. I went on to test about 12 other CD's, including ones I've made myself and MP3 discs, but it did the same. All work fine in the shuttle. Things I've made sure of before calling the dealer the next day: - The CD's were loaded correctly (common, just how many wrong ways can there be? I've even tried loading them upside down!) - The radio wasn't overheated - Left it overnight (still does the same) - It wasn't a problem with the discs (scratches, copy-protected, etc.) The dealer has no idea what could be wrong. (Do they ever?!) They said it might be coding, but they've ordered a replacement unit just in case. Anyone else had this. Remember the unit is brand new and never worked. I searched the forums and internet, but couldn't find anything relevant. Any ideas would be appreciated. Regards, Johann |

bring it back to the dealership. The player is probably faulty.

CD Error
I agree. I'd get it replaced, if it never worked in the first place. Mine works most of the time, but seems to be finicky about mp3's which I've burned myself. I attribute this to the burning process, however. I've made so many coasters in the past, esp with Roxio "Easy" CD creator...

I can play all CD audio format discs so far, but as for MP3 goes, looks like it doesnt like certain discs. I was thinking just need to not use the ones the player doesnt recgonize
