Trump Tarrifs

Anyone considered what this means for all the 2 and 3 series coming out of Mexico? We are about to find out.

Yes, we are. LOL

If they happen, I’m hoping for Mar 1 because there’s a better chance I’m delivered by then. If I’m caught in a 25% price increase, I’ll likely cancel my order.

I thought it starts tomorrow. I don't think he's thought this policy thorough though as it's the consumer that will be paying for it.

I've heard the same... but have also heard they will be announced tomorrow and will start on March 1 to give time for negotiations and exceptions.

They do start tomorrow. As to whether they will still be there Monday is anyone's guess.

Was just thinking about this and ran this by a couple SA's, one of them said the following about a build already in the production pipe line

This specific vehicle will not be affected by the tariffs but it could affect the msrp of future vehicles

Tariffs are collected when the car arrives at port. Bmw will have to pay them, and there's no way they will eat a 17k bill.

That's not to say there won't be exemptions for vehicles, we just don't know anything about that part yet.

Perhaps already worked out? Had the second SA say the same, no impact on my build in production. We shall how this plays out, I'm not eating 1k let alone 17 of them.

Typical fox bs that fails to correct tRumps lack of understanding of how tariffs work. Tariffs are import taxes that are paid by us, not foreign governments. Pay income tax or pay more for everything you buy. The math does not work.

If they actually happen they wont last long. I'm guessing they last a week at most and some sort of "agreement" happens quickly. It's just a power move.

But what’s worse, more expensive stuff or no income tax? I’d love to get my full salary without it getting taken advantage of against its will by the government.

You actually believe they will get rid of income tax and replace it fully with tariffs?

If they actually eliminated income tax for higher tariffs I'd be thrilled. I live way under my means.

The average price of a vehicle will increase about $3500 or so.

While I’m not happy having to pay more, I’ll do so because I agree with his decision. So, I’ll put my money where my vote was.

Until you've actually got the keys in your hand, I wouldn't count on anything.
