2025 M240i Mirror Tap Install

I decided to tackle the mirror tap install this weekend on my new 2025 M240i, and I had some trouble finding instructions for this model year. There are plenty of forum posts and youtube vids on older and non-G42 models, but the mirror housing seems different now. Taking the mirror housing off my previous F80 was a breeze, but this one was a struggle. I actually broke a clip in the process (hope that superglue holds!). If anybody has trouble with this even after reviewing older posts and vids, I figure I would share pics of the driver's side plastic housing to show the position of the clips in the hopes it may make it easier to remove the housing without an oops.

I didn't break any clips and found it pretty straightforward, but it could be some luck involved.

I started on the front side and worked back to the middle then the backside and separated the middle at the end. Mostly because that's the order in which I was able to make progress.

My housing looked quite different than any vids I had seen but I was thinking that was because of the integrated dash cam.

Overall, I would guess you could do a lot of things to mitigate broken clips since it's not a load bearing part, just don't want it to rattle.

It was easier to separate the cover towards the back (closer to the mirror) which is where I ended up starting. The front part of the cover near the windshield camera was much harder and that's where a clip broke. Without any pics or vids, I couldn't tell where to use the pry tool or pressure.
