Buying used vehicle (almost new car) MARKS

A friend is looking at a used M2 G87 with 1500 miles on it.
Is it normal for it to have such markings (or has been anything been repaired yet)?

I think yes, because after watching the videos on YouTube they also have some tags.

Interesting. I’m guessing normal. Will go look at mine in more detail later.

Those marks are probably just Quality control checks from original assembly, meaning they torqued the bolt or tightened the screw to spec

My builder does that on every nut/bolt he touches. Its to track if anything has backed off after everything is installed and torqued.

Can't speak for the OP but given he's looking at a car with 1500 miles, he's probably hoping the marks in his picture are from the factory. Mine has 1700 miles and has similar markings, so I would say the marks in his pictures are from the factory, and not an independent builder.

Attached is a picture from my own engine bay showing similar markings from the factory.

All common.

Bolts are marked to make sure they have been tightened. Also marked so that you can tell immediately if the bolt/nut has been moved during service.

100% legit. My 2023 with 12K miles on the clock still have the same marks.

Others have addressed your question regarding the marks on various pieces of hardware.

My question would be how did the car with 1500 miles end up on the used car lot?

Any signs of wrenching on the hood or trunk hinge hardware? On the strut bolts? Engine mounting bolts/hardware? IOWs, any signs of wrenching on any fastener hardware?

Has the car had its 1200 mile break in service?

Does the car come with the remainder of the factory new car warranty?
