I also stopped using Facebook due to the explicit stuff that would come up on my page, I even contacted them and they told me it was because of the stuff I was looking at, but that wasn't the case. No matter what way to explain it, it'll sound "sketchy", but I firmly believe that the algorithm is much more advance, it will build an interest list based off not just what you watch, but what your friends watch, your friends friends watch and it keeps going and going.

Regardless, social media is a problem and must be monitored by the parents.

What are you and your friends watching??

I have a FB mainly for my work, marketplace and groups. I can't say I browse it very often. I'm usually in and out looking for something specific. However, I'm pretty sure I haven't seen any of the stuff you guys are seeing.

Social Media, tech companies and AI... are something that should have been regulated many years ago for the general good of society and privacy laws should have been instituted like GDPR in the EU.... however the powers that be would not let this happen... since social media is central to propaganda (no matter by who) and tech is one of the few GDP growth drivers over the last 20 years... its funny how the tech ceos switched sides the moment the election came... they dont care about you, me or the next guy... they simply care about the bottom line.

I recently tried to sign up for it so I could access Marketplace to buy/sell M3 parts. Well, it says my account is locked and their review determined that it should stay locked. Ummm, I literally just signed up, haven't even used it yet. Probably for the best.

I never had Facebook. I got it last year (Feb. 2024) because my sons got fed up with me asking them to buy stuff for me on Facebook marketplace

, and they set me up with a bogus account so I can have access to marketplace.
