Phil Hill

I received word from one of my racing history pals that Phil Hill, America's first Formula 1 champion, passed away last night.

He was an incredible driver and an even more incredible gentleman. I had the pleasure of a number of small interactions with Phil Hill over the years and there was no driver I have observed that was more humble and 'down-to-earth' than he was.

RIP Phil, America has lost an incredible champion.
