lower back glass molding
Well it seems that my back glass lower window molding on the edges have popped off. I read on here about that, now its my turn It seems to be attached tight in the center, I thought about some adhesive to reattach the edges. I don't have patience with the dealer right now take it over there, have it looked at, miss a whole day of time. Then, have a part ordered, take it back again, etc etc. Anyone else have this happen lately?

had it happen to me too. 1 time I opened the trunk and I heard something flying thru the air. Like a spring loaded snake in a can that would fly out when you open the can. Same affect here. Then I looked around and saw this rubber thingy and then I said what did I break, took me a while to realized where this part came from. They need to add more sticky stuff on both edges.

After pushing the edges back on the glass after every washing this past Sunday I finally decided to rip the damn thing off altogether. It currently resides on my Kitchen table.
I made an appointment for Monday morning to take my 3er in for that along with three other issues. EDIT: This reminds me of the same issue that affected the interior felt trim piece on the E46's that ran around the door frame. I had the one on my passenger side replaced at least three times and the one on my drivers side replaced once. I think a stronger batch of adhesives is in order for BMW.

How to fix your trim.
Same thing happened to me. I used 3M moulding adhesive like this: http://www.levineautoparts.com/3msuwead08bl.html
Put a small trail down the lowest part of the window and shove the trim back on. Use the adhesive sparingly. You might need to scrape the excess glue very carefully off of the window with a sharp new razor blade. |

You can add me to the list of the PROBLEM too! Just noticed this two weeks ago..I have to keep inserting the ends in to the side molding strip every day
Time to call the local dealer..too many little issues for a BMW don't you think.

Don't bother wasting time with the dealer for this.
I had the same thing and bought a small tube of automotive silicone adhesive (for windscreens). I just cleaned that part of the glass and rubber, put a thin bead of adhesive on the edge of the glass and pressed it back on. It hasn't come off since. It took me 5 minutes which is much better than a day of messing with the dealer. |

Ive had this problem on my two E90S. I went to the dealer and told him and they glued it back together, Aparently it is a factory defect, that the machines dont finish applying the necessary glue on the right edge.
