Smile Diesel Owners - What's your fuel consumption

The other thread about mpg's made me wonder what the diesels are getting out there to a tank...

My car has just under 100km's to it...and the computer shows 10.4/100km's...it dropped from 14 at 7 km's this morning!!

EDIT -> With 150km's it's dropped to 9.7 already...boy I am loving this car..

How many km's on your clock?
What's your fuel consumption?
What % sulphur diesel are you using?
(And if you live in South Africa, where are you filling up and how much per litre?)

cool!

For a rough approximation, divide by 8 and multiply by 5.

I have 1,700 miles on the clock and my fuel consumption is:-

Average 42mpg or 5.6 liters/100Km using BP Ultimate Diesel (I find the engine picks up much better on lower revs with this fuel)

@ £0.97 (GBP) per liter or $1.70 (USD)

@ £3.88 (GBP) per gallon (US) or $6.80 (USD)

Which works out at £58 (GBP) to fill the tank or $101 (USD)

Bearing in mind if you run the petrol engine your fuel costs go up around 50% I hope that makes some of you guys in the states eyes water!

I do mostly short distances and country roads and am averaging 35.5 miles per gallon. I've done 1270 miles so far in 7 weeks (not a lot I know).

I have a 318d with about 300 miles on the clock. Currently doing mostly town driving but the mg display is still showing 44mpg (UK) (4.4l/100km).

By the way, you guys do know that UK mpg is not the same as US mpg....1 mpg (UK) = 0.83mpg (US).

Yeah..it's always relative. US is a large country, and we do not have a well developed public transportation system. Unlike the UK and Europe, we do not overly taxed fuel as a method of steering the public to use mass transportation.

In hindsight, Al Gore's suggested 50 cent/gallon tax looks like it would have been an extraordinary bargain.

Here is a conversion table from litres/100km to US mpg.

Litres Per 100k Miles Per Gallon (U.S.)
1.00 235.18
5.00 47.04
9.00 26.13
13.00 18.09
17.00 13.83

After 5,300kms, I seem to be getting 9.1l/100kms consistently for the last few thousand. I do mostly city driving with lots of hills and many short runs so I'm not surprised.

On another note, now that I have >5000kms the service indicator is still saying I have 30,000kms more to the 1st oil change. Still waiting for it to start counting down...

here is a site where you get informed about fuel consumption in general and where you can track your consumption.
a lot of germans do it and its very interesting.

here is the page of the e90 diesels:
