anybody know how to get a network password saved on XP?

Here is the deal:

my boss has a personal notebook that our IT guy setup to be on our network at work. he saved the password, but my boss doesnt know it. is there any way of retrieving it? maybe third party software? hopefully freeware?

its driving me nuts, and its draining my phone battery constantly checking my emails.

thanks a bunch in advance.

it might be a VPN, but its not really an "issue" the damn IT guy doenst want to give me the password. he says he doesnt want everyone on the computer.

if i was doing this on the company pc then i wouldnt try it, but its my boss' personal computer. i went into the network settings but the password looks like this: ********* and it wont let me copy and paste. if my boss knew it, hed give it to me, but he said the IT guy said turn around while he was putting it in.

im pretty sure its a VPN, becasue the corporate office has access to all our stuff.

^ very well said. I think his story sounds a little fishy. Any IT guy would give "THE BOSS" is personal password if the Boss required access to it.

if i am wrong good luck with your problem.

I can understand that it migr be misconstrued. The is a corporate office, and four stores. Each store has a manager an four assistants. T just so happens that he got his personal laptop connected on the stores network, I need the keyfor my iphone. The IT doesn't want to give I out so people aren't just surfing all day long. My boss he would give it to me with no problems, it e doesn't know it.

Does that sound fishy?
