E92 AW 335i number 4 arrived on Friday.

Hi All,
Still taking it easy so will comment on the new DCT later. Will also give an account of launch control when I have put a few miles on the clock. As you will see from the pics below the interior is slightly better with the silver touches. Playing DVD movies is great. The picture quality is superb and with the hifi upgrade sounds good too. The new presentation of the idrive brings it right up to date as it should be.

Dougie.

Lovely car! I like the surround to the gear lever - and the lever itself - much better looking than the DCT in the M3.
You must like white!

Sorry Alan,
Have to say that my first one was Sparkling Graphite. My mistake.

Very nice enjoy. They are getting very tempting.

The gear lever looks very similar if not the same as the sports auto trans in the 5 series.

So the pro media plays dvd's then how does that work.

Irn,
Nav and music store is now a 40GB hard drive. Only down side is the lack of speed cameras as POIs now. Someone needs to hack the nav update process. Any takers? No need for CD drive only a single DVD slot now. Just play DVDs as you would on a home player.

I take it the screen goes blank or onto another screen when the car is on the move, and onto the film when stationery? and is it possible to burn mp3 onto dvd to transfer to HDD?

Harpalb,
Screen does go blank when on the move but still plays the movie with sound only. You need to switch to the radio or other to see anything else. Once you do this the movie stops. Once you go back to the movie it starts from where you left off.
No need to burn MP3s to a disc just load them onto a USB stick and load them into the hard drive via a USB port in the glove box (supports 16000 songs). The other USB port for playing directly from the stick is still located in the centre arm rest.

Dougie.

Looks great Dougie. If you don't mind me asking, do you work for BMW or something? I love my 335i (albeit it is Sparkling Graphite, I wish I had gone for white now too) but it Just seems unusual to me to change your car so frequently for the same model.

Interested to hear about the DCT when you get a moment to do a write up

Second 2 nun,
Handbook suggests regions 1 to 6 can be played. Japan is in the same region as Europe so it looks like the whole world is possible.

Looks great Dougie, as did the one before, oh and before that too!!!

I'm interested to hear how you're managing to change cars so often; surely you're getting a large enough discount from new to not loose too much on sale. You could of course just be mental with money!!! What's your secret??

The DCT selector does look great but I'd have to try it first; not too sure it'll replace a manual box for me (I'm sure it is brilliant though but just not to me; perhaps!!!)

It's 80GB actually with just over 13GB available for your own music! Had mine since September!

Won't the disks from here http://www.gaming-ladders.co.uk/satnav/dvdmap.html provide you with speed camera info and 7 digit postcodes? I know the OS for the Professional system can only be done at the dealers but doesn't it use the Pro disk for the mapping and info?

I was planning on getting one of these once my E92 arrives.
